Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-06-10
These terms govern your use of the WhatPowers API and website (whatpowers.com), operated by Lucas Pessoa ("WhatPowers", "we"). By creating an account, purchasing a subscription or using the API you agree to these terms.
1. The service
WhatPowers is a technology-detection API: given a public website URL, it returns the technologies the site appears to use (CMS, frameworks, analytics, payments, hosting, CDN). Results are produced from publicly available signals (HTTP responses, DNS records, TLS certificates) and are provided on a best-effort, "as is" basis — detection is probabilistic and we do not guarantee accuracy, completeness or availability.
2. Orders and billing
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders and handles payments, invoices, sales tax/VAT and buyer support for billing matters. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled; you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period.
3. API keys and quotas
Each subscription includes an API key with a monthly lookup quota that matches your plan. You are responsible for keeping your key secret; requests made with your key count against your quota. We may rotate keys on request ([email protected]).
4. Acceptable use
- Do not use the service to attack, overload or probe systems you do not control.
- Do not resell raw API access without a prior written agreement.
- Do not attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas or authentication.
We may suspend keys that violate these rules.
5. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WhatPowers is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid in the 3 months before the claim. Business decisions made on top of detection results are your responsibility.
6. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on this page. Continued use after a change means acceptance. Questions: [email protected].
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Any dispute arising from these terms or from use of the service will be submitted to the courts of Brasília, Federal District (DF), Brazil, which the parties elect as the exclusive venue. This does not affect mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence, nor Paddle's buyer terms for billing matters.
